"The way you're takin' your time has got me jumpin' ship, And I won't lie let's An impatient girl waiting on an empty wish " Basic Information Full Birth Name: Delaney Kathleen Cathers Alias/Nickname: Del, Laney, DK, Cathers, DC Date of Birth: January 7, 1994 Gender: Female Sexual Orientation: Straight - Heterosexual Hometown: Silentville Languages: English - Some Spanish and some French Occupation: High School Student - Senior
Medical Records Ethnicity: English, French, Irish, Scottish, Italian, German Height: 5'5 Weight: 124 Eye Color: brown Hair Color: brown Built: Del has a very distinct built to her body. Many people always think that she is older than her age because of her curves. Her chest and her hips are the same measurement while her chest is small. Her stomach and waist is slim with only a tiny bit of jiggle. She isn’t the girl that is stick thin or even toned. Many people say that she is normal and average, which is the truth about her weight. But the thing is that many people think that she is around 20 or so instead of her seventeen-year-old age. Many people think that her features are from a Hawaiian or Asian background but she has nothing of that in her, and whenever someone claims she is, she simply laughs at them and tells them to get a freaking clue. A lot of her classmates think that she is evil and a bitch because of the looks that she gives people and the fact that her dark brown eyes are sometimes so dark they appear black. She has a very smooth and clear complexion that is an ivory color. Sometimes she will tan but not that much since she believes in sun block so she doesn’t get cancer. Distinguishing Features: There are a few distinguishing features about Del. First off her facial structure confuses people with an Asian or a Hawaiian feature but she has none of that in her features. She has really dark eyes that either gives her the innocent look or a dead evil look depending on what her attitude is. A lot of people would say another thing that separates her from the other girls is her chest size. She does not exactly have a small or childish chest.
She has her ears pierced. She never got her nose or belly button done and she never will because according to her it is just unclassy. She has two tattoos one of a note and a heart on her ankle and then on her hip she has a simple little tattoo that is a Chinese symbol for happiness.
Medical History: Del has never really had a lot of medical problems as a kid. She was always healthy with the occasional flu or bug that she would pick up around the playground or school. Other than that her life was constant playing and having fun. When she was a teenager she started to have a lot of adventures leaving her with a lot of visits to the doctors. When she started to ride motocross, she had broken her legs at least twice and her arm in a couple accidents. She still is not afraid and she will still go out racing with the guys. She also has a couple of metal screws in her ankle from a bad sport injury she had during the summer at cheerleading camp. After that camp she hasn’t really cheerlead since then. She has never been pregnant or had a miscarriage. Therapy Records Strengths: 1. Persistent - The one thing about Del is that she is strongly persistent about anything she does. She keeps doing it either it be working out or a habit that she is really well. The other thing that she is persistent about is when she wants something she will do just about anything to get it. Many people say that this is strength and a bad characteristic to have. In school it has earned her pride for her very good grades and yet bad at the same time with her need to act out to get her parents attention.
2. Fearless – Many people call Del a bit of a daredevil. She will do things that are just crazy and insane. She would drive on the wrong side of the road when the road is open. Go Dirt Bike riding in the middle of the night. Even do what you tell her to when she is blindfolded. But not only is she fearless in this way but she is also fearless in the way that she acts on her emotions. Most of the time, she doesn’t think before she acts on her actions.
3. Curiosity – Del enjoys to have a lot of fun with the curiosity for everything. She asks a lot of questions and isn’t afraid to try new things. People always tell her to be careful because curiosity killed the cat but she always goes back with or it just made the kittens. She is curious with things from school to things that people do. She learns a lot from observing especially when she is curious about the subject.
4. Outgoing – Most teenagers love to sleep, Del does too but generally its after she is on the go for a good long time. She is always known to have a lot of energy and always wanting to go out and do something. A lot of people know that she is someone that is linked to everyone in one way or another. She is usually the first to arrive to a place or an event and one of the last ones to leave that place.
5. Confident – Teenagers are known to be insecure, but Del is not like them. She is actually very secure with her body and with who she is. Some people think that she is faking it but some thing that she is too into herself. The truth is that Del just likes who she is and knows that her body will change because its not made to stay the same. She is the type of girl that believes that everyone is beautiful in their own way and it just depends on who they are as a person rather than what they look like.
6. Compassion – One thing that many people see about Del is that when she finds something that she really enjoys, one can really see her compassion for it. She is either all in or all out. When that something she is compassionate about is a hobby, you will see her reading and educating herself and also surrounding herself around that. Some people call that insane while others call it passion.
Weaknesses: 1. Honesty – Del is the person that is very honest but usually in not the good way. She will tell you what is on her mind and generally if it is bad it will hurt you to no end. But she has a hard time believing others on if they are telling the truth or not. So even if you are telling the truth she will consider it but usually think that it is a lie.
2. Jealousy – Del gets jealous really fast about all sorts of things. From friends to boyfriends to items in general. Del doesn’t really have a family and so she hangs onto things and when she sees people with the things that she has or wants she will get jealous. But the biggest thing she gets jealous about is when her guy, boyfriend or just hook up buddy, is talking or flirting with another girl. It gets her skin boiling and she is never one that is easy to cool off.
3. Alone – Being alone is something that Del is not that great with. She would prefer to be around someone family or friends. Her father is always away on business and her mom is usually down in Los Angeles with some guy that she has on the side. Del tries to surround herself around people as much as possible but sometimes all she needs is one person.
4. Doesn’t get along well with others – Del has been known to not get along with a lot of people. She has her close group of friends and then everyone else is just there. Even to her closest friends though she will come off as rude and a bit bitchy. She is not one to back down or even take crap from someone else. She is in a lot of fights, which is nothing new since she has been fighting with people since she was a little kid.
5. Domineering – Del is very much in person that likes the saying, “my way or the high way.” She is not one that will compromise unless she thinks there is a way to get what she wants out of it. She became this way mostly because she likes to be right and likes to lead. Some people think its because her parents don’t really care and that is why she herself feels like she has to be so domineering.
6. Intimidating – Many people think that Del is intimidating in all sorts of ways. Some guys will say that she comes onto them too strongly. While girls will say that she has this look about her that makes them want to back off. Not too many people are sure why Del is like this. Some say its because of her lack of trust and commitment and faith towards others while others say that she gets it from her parents.
Likes: 1. Clothes – Del has so much clothes that she could probably go for almost 3 months without washing clothes. She loves having options and loves keeping up with trends. She will even get gutsy and mismatch styles to do something different and fun.
2. Milk Shakes – She lives off of these things. No joke. She knows how to make all sorts of milk shakes. It’s the one treat that you will see her sipping on when she is at home or when she is at the store or what not. She is really just crazy about them.
3. Beer & Mixed drinks – Some people claim that Del is a bit of an alcoholic because she usually has at least 4 drinks every day. That drinks maybe a beer or mixed drinks or what not. She loves how the alcohol lets her lose her control and just lets her relax and be chill.
4. Shoes – This girl loves shoes. She has a lot of shoes. She believes that girls remember shoes more than they remember outfits. When Del is bored at school you will see her buying shoes or browsing through the selection. Whenever she goes into a store that is the first section she goes to.
5. Art – Del is a very impressive artist. She knows to work with just about anything. She loves art because it’s so universal and yet so different according to each person. Del’s room has a lot of easels and art supplies in there so that way when she is in the mood she can just go right at what she needs to do. But really most of her art supplies are found in the garage’s loft where she does most of her artwork. She says it helps her escape the reality and into her own mind.
6. Music – Del knows how to sing and play the guitar and piano. Her parents thought that while she was growing up she needed to know how to play the piano because of its beauty and also because it will help her show her diverse talents with people. An old ex boyfriend taught Del how to play the guitar, which is what she plays the most nowadays rather than the piano.
Dislikes: 1. Families - People with happy families. Mostly she doesn't like them because of the simple fact that she wished that she did have a family that cared. Instead they take off and she is left alone in her parent's house. Many years Del used to wish on her birthday cake that she would be able to have at least one birthday with both of her parents together. Maybe even them acting like a family but that never happens.
2. Glasses – Del has to wear glasses and people don’t really know that. She normally has her contacts in but at night when she is home alone, you will catch her with her glasses on. She is starting to like them slowly and who knows maybe she will show up at school with them. Just right now she is afraid people will make fun of her because she remembered a few things about people who wore glasses that she went to school with.
3. Golf – She feels like Golf is too boring and shouldn’t really be considered a competitive sport. To her sport was more for the business people rather than entertainment. She does know how to play Golf though because her father taught her how to play golf so that way she was well rounded. Golf is something that she thought she would never have to use but found that it’s a great way to flirt with guys and all the cute things to wear.
4. Stuck at home – Some times it is okay to be home but Del is home a lot in a home that is more of a building. There is nothing really in this place that was really home. The only areas that felt like home were the garage loft and her room. Everything else seemed to be homes of the ghosts that once were a family. Being home was hard for Del and even more so she can’t stand the empty, cold, and loneliness that fills the house up.
5. Storms – Del was the one that was not a fan of storms. She hates that if you are outside you will be soaked and freezing or with wind blown destroyed hair or worse end up sick after being caught in the storm. Being in Southern California everyone thought was warm and happy bliss but during the winter and early spring it was nothing but that and that was the time that Del would refuse simply refuse to go out during a storm.
Goals: 1. Del wants to be able to graduate high school for a change. It is a bit hard for her to stay in school. She gets in fights and when she gets bored or annoyed she would leave the school campus. Many times she thought about ditching school all together and run away to Paris to learn about art more.
2. Even though Del cannot handle high school, she can’t wait till she goes to college. She wants to study art from all ages and learn as much as she can. She loves art and it’s the one thing that has made her happy in so long.
3. Later in life, Del hopes to own her own gallery so she could show off her own artwork. She would also love to show off other young artists work to help them feel like they will not be forgotten and that their art work means something to some one out there.
Fears:1. Insects – The one thing that the girl has the biggest fear is insects aka bugs. If she sees one she will scream and then find something to kill it. Spiders though she will probably run and scream. She doesn’t know why but she doesn’t mind drawing them but actually seeing them or worse feeling them freaks her out. She believes that she got this fear from staying in a cabin with a group of friends only for them all to wake up with bugs all over them.
2. Being Forgotten – With her parents constantly ignoring her, Del feels that if someone forgot her that she would not be able to live with herself. She doesn’t want to be forgotten that is half of the reason she acts out and she makes sure people see here. It is the purpose of everything that she does. She thinks if she could create tension or always be in the limelight for one reason or another that at least someone will probably know who she is, maybe.
Secrets: 1. Del has a secret identity. She has a different name, which is Devon Cullen. She uses this name to sell her artwork. She has her own birth certificate, driver’s license. Basically while Del goes to Los Angeles she turns into 23 year old Devon Cullen outstanding artist with the million-dollar smile. She has her own bank account and everything. She even has a place near LA that she lives in.
2. Even though Del loves to live life on the edge and have a good time, there is a small private and personal part of her that just wants the normal life. To have an awesome boyfriend and to cuddle with him with a book near the fireplace in the middle of the night. She secretly craves for nothing but a simple life instead of living in the constant light but she doesn’t want to be forgotten by everyone. It’s a catch 22.
3. Last summer, Del lived in LA. It was the beginning of the life of Devon. It was also the time when Del met an attractive young man and had an amazing summer fling. It was an amazing time and the first time Del felt in love but she knew it had to end mostly because Devon is a person that didn't exist. Most importantly Del had to end things because the man popped THE question on Del. Del is still in high school and this guy was a college grad on the verge of his own career as a publicist.
Personality: Many people are different and have their own little flaws and plastic shiny skin especially in Southern California, more especially Silentville. Everyone has their secrets and their past, some people wear it on their sleeve and others wear it on their deep in their skin below the make up and eye shadow. Delaney Kathleen Cathers, she is a girl that hides a lot and when she isn’t in the limelight, she makes a limelight for herself. Del used to be the good quiet well-behaved girl but nowadays if she isn’t the charming beautiful girl in the group, she is the big mouth fist-throwing girl that never gives up until she wins.
Del is one of those girls that she will mold herself into fitting the status quo of the place she is in. She can be the sweet innocent girl to the bitchy in control woman. She learned from her mother at an early age to get what she wants how to keep secrets down. The worse part is like daughter like mother is starting to come true with Delaney. Many people think that she has an amazing life. No parents around to supervise and an unlimited bank account with credit cards. She her personality is generally melds into whatever she can get with her sweet smile to her whatever her Gold Master Card can’t get her.
On the outside she is completely fake but inside when she is in her own zone and in her own private home she is completely different. When it is just her in her own head space, she is a down to earth girl who dances around her room with her head phones on and sweat pants on with her glasses on her face rather than contacts in her eyes. She is who she wishes she could be. She also loves being the one that will be carefree and fun and easy at home. She wants to have someone that she feels comfortable to see her paint and draw in a baggy jeans and a tank with her hair messy while listening to some new music she came into possession.
All in all, Del is a girl that is just trying to figure out who she is still and trying to figure out if living a double life is worth it in the end or if she should shed one of the crazy identities and become a normal American Teenager.
Fashion Sense: There is so much inside of Del’s closet. She generally wears a lot of the high fashion and trendy outfits. Things that people in Los Angeles wear or wish they could wear when they are just draping around in the fakes. Del believes that the key to success goes down to the right shoes to the perfect manicure and outfit. Everything that was five minutes ago, are things that Del wears around school and when she goes out to party she wears the latest and best. When she is not out in the public’s eye or outside of her home, she is down in jeans that are torn, ripped, and painted on to tanks and over sized sweaters covering up some cut up jeans. When she is alone she dresses for comfort and not style or pleasing someone else. History Records Pets: Tinker, westie dog, 3 years old Sugar, westie dog, 3 years old Marital Status: Single Parents: - Charles Allen Cathers, 46 years old, Father, IT Consultant - Sarah Mae (Anderson) Cathers, 42 years old, Mother, Unemployed Siblings: None Distant Family Members: None Family Relationship: This family is almost like complete strangers. No one has really had a sit down meal with one another in over two years. You will hardly ever find the family acting like a family they are more than likely just occupying the same space and don't bother acting close. History: Del’s childhood is never the best, even more so she was extremely lonely as a child. Most of the time she was at a neighbors house while her mom was out with a guy or even more so found on the floor drunk after one too many cocktails or any other drink she felt the need to have that night. Del usually never felt happy inside of her home. Her father is always away, and let’s say that her mommy dearest checks out from reality.
When Del started to grow up and become a teenager she decided she got tired of living life on the sidelines. IT didn’t get her anywhere and even more so it did nothing for her except leave her in the dark as if she didn’t exist. After middle school, she decided to ditch the tomboyish looks and change to a bit of the more interesting mature side of life. She had a lot that many girls did not. She had parents that were gone and plastic by the time she was 14. When her family promised her that for her 14th birthday she would have a family night just the three of them on a night out in Malibu together at the Paradise Cove that was the moment Del cracked. Her father completely forget and he went to New York on a supposedly business trip. Her mother decided it would be fun to swimming at the bottom of the Jack Daniel bottle. Del spent her 14th birthday throwing away all of her pictures of her family and also tossing all her old wardrobe. Out with the old and in with the new. From this time forward, Del never leaves the house unless she is looking shiny and new and almost as if she was flawless. She started to care about others and making sure they never gave her shit or even thought to cross her.
The summer after her freshman year many people thought that Del had gotten plastic surgery. Like many girls, Del had blossomed into a lovely lady. Her mother thought and knew that she was the pretty girl and that her mother thought Del didn’t have any other expectations. Her mother basically told her that she didn’t have to have any expectations because of the simple fact that she was going to stay pretty marry some rich guy and live a happy easy life. Del was personally hurt about that she was hurt that because she looked like a supermodel or some playboy model and it hurt her to have to think that all her parents expect from her is to grow up stay beautiful and be some one’s wife. She spent most of the summer in Santa Cruz on a boat. She needed to get away. She was struggling to cut her old habits away. She had to try to bury her old self so her parents wouldn’t hurt her anymore not mentally. When she got back to Silentville everyone started to talk to her about the simple fact she was no longer small chested but instead had a chest that measured to a C cup. People thought that she had gone off to get plastic surgery. At night she cried and cried because she would honestly never do a plastic surgery that is so selfish as that and secondly because her mom wasn’t there to tell her everything was all right instead she was downstairs passed out on the couch from a tonic.
The sophomore year was hard and not easy for her. She had to deal with the “Melon” jokes and all of the boys hitting on her and girls glaring at her. She was a cheerleader for a few years now and lately all she had been thinking about is if this is all worth it. Is cheerleading worth it? She had a pretty uneventful year mostly because she didn’t want to end up being the one that was in all the rumors and yet somehow she did. If some STD were going around everyone would glance at Del even though the farthest she has gone with a guy right now was 3rd base. She never got close to anyone. Everyone noticed how distant she had become and even more so they started to worry about it. Teachers called home to inform her mother but all her mother did was pour Del a glass of vodka and told her to drink up that it was the best medicine in the world. Del at the time didn’t care and she took it and drank up. It was a hard way to get way through the year but she managed some how.
During her Sophomore Summer though was the big break, literally. Del had to go to cheer camp if she wanted to stay on the team and so she went. She went and the worse happened. She was performing a stunt when her flyer fucked up and didn’t move correctly knocked Del down and the other girls. During this accident Del broke her wrist and that was when she lost her spot on her Cheer Team. They didn’t trust her because the flyer was blaming everything on her back, which was Del. Del, told them that she was sorry and that it won’t happen again but they pushed her away. She told them fine and walked away without looking back.
High School: Attending but will graduate in 2012 College: n/a College Major: n/a Behind the Character Your Name or Alias: Jessie Your Age: 22 Contact Info: MSN, AIM, Yahoo, PM Role playing Experience: 7+ years Role Play Sample:Growing up in the Johns family was a little weird. Most families were all happy and well normal. Nope not at this family. You didn’t hear a lot of I love yous. There was constantly a fight of some sort either between family members or from someone out of the family. Growing up for Del though was not easy. Her parents always seemed to fight about just every thing that happened. At night one could hear it all but during the day you didn’t hear anything because well no one was really around. Her father was either gone or too busy with his job supposedly. Her mom was always into traveling, Del assumed that it was some sort of family trait or something. Sooner or later though her parents got divorced and that was a flip in her life. Her father whom she used to be close with just disappeared with nothing but a note that said sorry. That was it. She was the closest to her father at least she thought so. Her mom and her seemed to argue more than the others. People used to say it was because Del and her had similar personalities but Del did not want to believe that. Once they moved to Clearwater because, Del’s mom thought it would be better to be around the other family for support and all that, Del’s mom was gone more than ever. It seemed with that divorce, Del had lost both of her parents. But no matter what Del knew she could always call her mom up and talk to her until tonight….
Finally getting to sleep by twelve thirty only to be woken up again by her cell phone going off. Without moving much, she answered the phone thinking that one of her friends were just drunk or some one messing with her. But that was not what was on the phone. No, it was Jagger and news that Del did not want to hear. Her mother couldn’t have gotten in the accident neither could her aunt and uncle…. They were Johns it was harder than that to put a Johns in a death wish. Slowly she sat up and just sat there in the dark room. Everything seemed to be so unreal. They could not die, that was the only thing that kept circling in her mind.
She remembered the last time she had with her mom. That day she was at home to pick up the rest of her stuff with Toby. Her mom and her really got into it. Del called her things that she would have never done if she were still eleven or even thirteen. The look of so much pain and anger and just pain remained stuck in Del’s head. She never had the chance to say sorry. She never had the chance to tell her that she loved her after their fight. Everyone told her that she should go and apologize because that was her mom. Del always just shrugged it off and told them that she would get around to it. But now she could not just get around to it. Her mom was gone and there was nothing that Del could do…
Tears began to develop in her eyes as she sat on her bed. Her watery brown eyes moved to Toby, who was so peacefully asleep. Should she tell him? He did not care much for her family but she needed him. Right now more than anything, she really felt like he was all she had left. She had siblings and cousins but they didn’t really stick but a few of them and even those few she did not talk to that much. Toby was her family for now and for as long as possible. A shaky hand set on Toby’s shoulder and slowly shook him.
“Toby… I need you to wake up…” Her voice was shaky and scratchy. She did not know what she looked like or anything like that. For some reason she could not remember. She shook him again a little harder this time. She climbed over him and off the bed.
“Come on… I need you to wake up please… There is a family emergency… My… my mom is dead…. I need to go to the hospital.” She choked out as she put on her pajama bottoms. She never slept with pants or shorts or something on. The feeling of something on her legs always made her feel confined. She sighed as she looked over to him. She found a post it off of the desk that was hers. She scribbled a note telling Toby to met her at the hospital. She then stuck the post it to his forehead. She threw on a sweatshirt and grabbed her tote bag and keys.
Once she reached the hospital, a nurse asked her a few questions but Del blew her off. She has been here enough to know where the emergency surgery waiting room was. Everyone that was there seemed to be like zombies. She knew how they felt since she felt the same way. On the way here, she decided that she would be strong for every one else. They needed her even if they did not want to admit to it. She would not show emotion until she was home again in Toby’s arms and away from everyone else’s eyes. She looked up at the clock and it was barely three in the morning. So she found the couch and pulled her sketch book out and began to sketch. It was the one thing that kept her sane at the moment. She sketched while her parents were fighting and getting their divorce. She sketched through her break up with Isaac. Now she was sketching because of the lose of her mother.
Once the clock hit ten, Del was starting to feel hungry and thirsty. She had not slept the whole time she was here. How could she… not when she had to go down to the coroner’s office to make sure that her mother was on the table and really died. She was the one that was died. Her mom, the one that Del thought it would take five world wars before her mom would even inch towards Death and instead there she was on the cold metal table in some drawer died. That was at seven in the morning shortly after the coroner got done with the autopsy.
Getting up from the couch that she was in which was shared by the occasional kid or so, she looked around at everyone else. She took a deep breath and tried to figure out what to say. She had to step up and fill up the shoes over a position that she should not be in. But since Hannah or Ransom has not shown up yet, she figured that she would have to do it.
“Does anyone want any coffee or food… I am thinking about hitting vending machines… and the coffee pot.” She said out loud as she looked around at the zombies that once used to the Johns members. She figured she would stand there for a minute longer before she decided to walk off to the coffee and candy on her own.
